DNA extraction in the lab

For our second lab practice this year, we went to the laboratory to extract and observe DNA from human and tomato cells. DNA is the desoxyribonucleic acid, and it is the molecule which contains our genetic information, the code to make us be humans, or tomatos, or any other living thing in this world! We also had the chance to use our microscopes again to observe a sample of the tomato cells we used for the extraction.

Although it was a difficult practice, and some of us could not see a perfect final result, we have enjoyed it a lot and learnt about new techniques and materials from the biology lab. We hope to come back soon for new experiments!
