This project was inspired by the great work at StoryCorps, an American non-profit whose mission is to “is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world” (“About StoryCorps”, 2019).
Their work started in 2013 when they opened their first “storybooth,” a public recording studio in the middle of New York City´s Grand Central Terminal. They have been recording ever since.
At IES Emilio Ferrari, students from 3D/E recorded intimate interviews with parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters. They transformed these conversations into biographies, which they recorded in their own voices. Listen.
For their classmates, for the community and for posterity: StoryCorps, IES Ferrari.
